The synthetic core responds instantly to bow pressure, and the silver winding adds articulate clarity without losing any warmth. This D-string offers excellent dynamics and projection, allowing solo and chamber music to be performed in any hall, and the string part carries effortlessly through the room. The DOMINANT PRO's tonal development is very distinctive: immediately after tensioning, the D-string sounds bell-like and fills the room. During the first three to five hours of playing, it feels somewhat softer and warmer; then it opens up, sounds clearer and more brilliant, and offers more possibilities for modulation. In the final third, the tone becomes more direct and stable, with less drastic changes. The D-string has a relatively direct bow response, and thanks to an innovative silver-aluminum alloy, it maintains clarity over long passages and reduces wolf tones when used with the G-string. The diameter is slightly smaller than that of a synthetic A-string, which provides a pleasantly tactile, responsive power under both left and right hands.
