The Koch ST40/H Studiotone XL is a powerful 40W Class A tube amplifier head , designed for guitarists looking for classic British tube tone with modern functionality. With four EL84 tubes in the output stage and three switchable channels (Clean, Overdrive & Overdrive+), each with its own volume control, this top-of-the-line amplifier delivers everything from warm, round cleans to rich overdrive with typical EL84 compression. The Mid Shift (2-way) and Bright (3-way) voicing switches offer additional tone shaping and make the amplifier widely applicable.

On the rear you'll find a recording output with speaker simulation and microphone placement filters , an effects loop , independent line outs , a headphone output , and a Power Soak with speaker on/off switch for silent recording or practicing. Thanks to the 4, 8, and 16 ohm speaker outputs, the Studiotone XL top can be used flexibly in any live or studio situation. The included footswitch makes changing channels or activating the boost easily from the stage.
