The top is crafted from Norway spruce, while the back and sides are made of beautifully flamed maple. The neck is also maple, and ebony is used for the fingerboard, tuning pegs, and chinrest. The oil-based patina with an antique finish gives the cello a warm amber appearance and contributes to the instrument's rich resonance.

The STC17CE offers a powerful and balanced sound with excellent projection, thanks in part to the carefully crafted wood thickness that allows the instrument to vibrate freely. This model remains relatively wide in smaller sizes, which enhances the sound volume.
