The Rotosound RS66EL is an extra-long scale string set from the legendary Swing Bass 66 series . These roundwound strings, made of stainless steel, deliver a bright, powerful, and punchy tone. Thanks to their standard gauge (.045 - .105) and extra-long string length of 36", these strings are ideal for bassists with long scale or custom basses that require extra string length.
The Swing Bass 66-string was developed in 1962 by James How in collaboration with John Entwistle and has forever changed the sound of the electric bass guitar. They are still considered the standard for roundwound strings. Notable users include Billy Sheehan , John Paul Jones , and Geddy Lee .
