With the Hipshot Tuner Upgrade Kit you benefit from:
- Grip-Lock™ tuning machines for optimal security or a lightweight, classic style.
- UMP™ (Universal Mount Plate) for easy installation without special tools.
- Retrofits for guitars with 13/32" [10mm] headstock holes, so you can return your instrument to its original condition without any traces.
Key features of the upgrade kit include:
- All tuning machines have a post length of .827" [21mm].
- The open gear tuners have an 18:1 ratio, while the closed gear tuners have a 15:1 ratio for more accurate tuning.
- The Grip-Lock™ option uses a pin and thumbwheel system that securely grips your strings without the need for wraps.
- The Classic option offers a traditional, non-locking string post for weight savings, ideal for guitars with a tendency to neck dive.
- The string post opening will accommodate strings up to .060".
